AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of the San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain of the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Shortly after graduating earlier from the University of California, Berkeley and playing for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her debut with the club and assisted the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest player in the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She was second in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, making her the most youthful and sixth-highest prolific player to achieve 20 goals in a single year. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. Morgan was selected to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
